I am using ESX (latest free version 5.X) to host multiple VMs (mainly Windows with some Linux). Users will have control of these VMs and should be able to snapshot them, however I don’t want to deal with giving any access to the actual ESX host. I am considering using the Powershell plugin for VMWare and creating a script with a web front end to allow users to create snapshots from an internal web page. Is there any easier way? What would be the best practice here?
